Mbo Mpenza is a Belgian former professional footballer and football coach.

Since the end of his career as professional football player and coach, Mbo Mpenza has been working for Ultimate Player, a service company for professional footballers. He also became a soccer match consultant for Belgian radio and television broadcasters.

Mr Mpenza is also a FIFA[1] Legend. FIFA Legends is a programme designed to bring together former top players and coaches from men’s and women’s football to promote and support football and its wider mission around the world. FIFA Legends: (i) are global representatives of FIFA’s efforts to develop football, (ii) promote fair play, respect, equality, solidarity and peace through sport and (iii) support FIFA’s social development projects.

FIFA has been working closely with the Commission on the topic of anti-discrimination and will continue to do so in the future. FIFA supported the organisation of the event that took place in Molenbeek Saint Jean on the adoption day (i.e. 18 September 2020) of the EU anti-racism action plan 2020-2025. Mbo Mpenza represented FIFA at the event and shared his experience of racism in Europe during a round-table discussion.
